Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has decided to plant barmuda grass in the southern part of the Army Pavilion to facilitate the use of the general public.
Now this place is used as a place for youth and children to play sports and for senior citizens to relax and warm up in the sun. Public programs are also held from time to time. The plan is being implemented to plant grass for ease of use by improving the condition of dust and mud in the water, which is used by the general public.
The 61,263 square meters square meter project will cost Rs 27 million. The contractor has been given time till mid-December, 2083.
According to senior engineer at the Department of Public Works, Arjun Aryal, 3 inches of fertile soil would be placed in the complex. Grass will be planted on it. There will be eight rainwater collection pits with a depth of 6 meters and a diameter of 1.2 meters.
It is expected to increase people’s access to open spaces, social interaction, environmental improvement, and enhance urban beauty.
