Import of seven types of pulses worth Rs 7.64 billion in six months

Birgunj. In the first six months of the current fiscal year, seven types of pulses worth Rs 7.64 billion have entered Nepal via Birgunj. In the first six months of the last fiscal year, more than Rs 1.80 billion worth of pulses had been imported.

Udaya Singh Bista, information officer at the Birgunj Customs Office, said that the import of goods has increased by 31 percent in the first six months of the current fiscal year. In the first six months of the last fiscal year, Nepal imported pulses worth Rs 5.83 billion. Nepal imported lentils worth Rs 3.82 billion in the first six months of the current fiscal year.

Likewise, beans worth Rs 1.÷17 billion were imported in the same period. Gram worth Rs 1.14 billion was imported in the first six months of the current fiscal year.

Likewise, other beans worth one billion have been imported. Dal worth Rs 270 million and peas worth Rs 160 million have been imported. Similarly, a hero worth Rs 51.0 million was imported.
