Patanjali land scam: Court orders to subpoena witnesses in corruption case including Madhav Kumar Nepal

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Special Court has ordered the hearing of witnesses in the corruption case against 93 defendants including co-coordinator of the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN), Madhav Kumar Nepal.

The special court has ordered to accept the witnesses today. A division bench of Justices Narayan Prasad Poudel and Dilli Ratna Shrestha issued the order to present the case.

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on June 5 had filed a corruption case against 93 people, including Madhav Kumar Nepal, in connection with the land scam that was provided to Patanjali Yogpeeth in Sanga. Earlier, the Special Court had ordered the release of Nepal on bail of Rs 3.5 million. With the verdict of detention, the case is moving forward for a final verdict.

A claim of Rs 18,58,50,000 was filed against Nepal.
