Trump says he has reached an agreement with India to buy Venezuelan oil

Kathmandu. US President Donald Trump has said that India has already signed an agreement to buy Venezuelan oil. He also openly urged China to buy Venezuelan oil.

Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump said he welcomes China to make a big deal on Venezuelan oil. He said India will soon enter into the process of buying Venezuelan oil and instead of buying oil from Iran, it plans to import oil from Venezuela. According to him, the concept of agreement has already been prepared in this regard.

“We’ve already made an agreement. India is coming and they are going to buy Venezuelan oil instead of buying from Iran. So we’ve worked out the framework of the deal,” Trump said. He reiterated that China is also welcome to come in and buy oil. However, the Indian government has not yet given a formal response to President Trump’s remarks.

Earlier, Trump said that Venezuela had offered the US 50 million barrels of oil worth $5.2 billion and had agreed to it. Speaking at a press conference on changing the name of Southern Boulevard to Donald Trump Boulevard, he said he was in constant dialogue with the new leadership.

“We’re talking to the new president and other people who are running the country. “We have five million barrels of oil and it needs to be processed immediately because there is no storage space,” he said. Do you take it? I said, ‘We’ll take it,'” Trump said. According to him, the value of this oil is 5.2 billion US dollars.

Trump said the United States has “very good relations” with the interim administration that was formed after the arrest of former Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro. “We’re on good terms with the interim president and everybody else. There’s a lot of pressure off,” he said.

After Maduro’s control ended, Trump made clear that Washington would support Venezuela during the transition and want full access to other resources, including oil.

President Trump’s latest comments also corroborate a recent report by New York-based news agency Semaphore. According to the report, the US has made the first sale of Venezuelan oil, which is worth about $ 50 million.

According to Semaphore, the proceeds from the sale of the oil are currently held in a bank account controlled by the US government. An administration official hinted at this in an order issued on Friday, and another senior official said the main account was located in Qatar.
