Kathmandu. Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) leader Shishir Khanal has said that the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) will bring the promises of his party targeting the employment and middle class families in the upcoming elections.
He said that employment is the main demand after the Genji movement and he will focus on it first. Speaking at a programme titled ‘Economic Agenda’ in the party’s manifesto organized by NAFIZ here today, Khanal said that laws would be formulated to facilitate the private sector to create jobs.
Stating that the RSP has already put forth its vision of economy, he said that he believes in liberal economy but has brought the concept of social justice in it.
He also stressed the need of improving connectivity to develop the tourism sector. “We have set a target of becoming a respectable middle-income country for the next 10 years,” he said, adding that the RSP would also give priority to technology and hydropower for economic development. He said that there is a need to improve the public education and health sectors targeting the middle class.
Stating that the economy could not be strong without good governance, he stressed the need for transparency in the appointment and interference in the regulatory bodies.
Leader Khanal said that the government has set a target of producing 30,000 MW of electricity in the next 10 years. He also said that an environment conducive for Nepalis living abroad could be created to invest in Nepal.
If there is no majority, the manifesto will not be implemented
Khanal said that a single party should get majority to implement the manifesto brought by the political parties. “The manifesto can be implemented only if a single party gets a majority as the laws are made only as per the government’s wishes. The manifesto cannot be implemented when 5/6 parties come together and the government is unstable,” he said.
