Kathmandu. The Department of Commerce, Supply and Consumer Protection has slapped Rs 10,000 fine to a store based in Bhaktapur of Madhyapur Thimi municipality.
The department has fined Ramesh Thapa Store based in Thimi after the monitoring was found to be incompetent. The store has been fined as per the Consumer Protection Act, 2075.
Similarly, Ganapati Jee Traders has been directed to present themselves at the department within a day with documents related to their business. The department has issued corrective directives to 14 more firms.
The department has been regularly monitoring the market in the presence of consumer rights activists, local administration and people’s representatives.
