Myagdi. MYAGDI: A bus service from Beni, the district headquarters of Myagdi district, to Delhi has begun. Modern Era Tours and Travels and Shristi Yatayat Pvt Ltd have started the bus service from Beni Kalipul Bus Park to New Delhi via Syangja, Waling, Bhairahawa, Ayodhya, Agra.

Beni municipality mayor Surat KC inaugurated the bus service. Chairman of Modern Era Tours and Travels, Keshav Prasad Adhikari, said that the service will play a significant role in connecting religious sites of Myagdi and Mustang to India.

“The bus can travel from Beni to Delhi in 27 hours”, he said, adding that the bus will leave from Beni at 6.45 am every day and from Sarojini Nagar of Delhi at 4 pm. The fare from Beni to New Delhi has been reduced to Rs 5400 and from New Delhi to Rs 32,000.

The bus has a capacity of 45 people. The distance between Beni and Delhi is 1400 kilometers. People of Myagdi, Baglung, Parbat and Mustang districts will be benefited from this service. Earlier, there was a problem of travelling a vehicle to go to Pokhara from Myagdi to India. Susan Kisan of Mangala Rural Municipality-1, Bharjula said that they had to reach Pokhara a day before and then travel to Delhi by bus the next day.

Beni municipality mayor KC said the establishment of road connectivity between Myagdi and New Delhi would help promote tourism in the district. Mayor KC said that the bus service would be easier for the Indian tourists coming to visit Galeshwor Dham of Myagdi, Pulah Ashram and Muktinath Temple of Mustang.

Chairperson of Shristi Transport Pvt Ltd, Krishna Prasad Poudel said efforts have been made to operate transportation from New Delhi to Korala transit point on the Chinese border via Kaligandaki corridor under the Nepal-India Friendship Bus Service Program.

More than one hundred thousand Indians visit the Muktinath Temple in Mustang every year. Ain Bahadur Shahi, a transport entrepreneur of Myagdi, said that the fare to the passengers going to India from Myagdi for employment, education, treatment and other purposes would be much cheaper than in the Indian railway service.
