Gold smuggling case: Two Indians arrested for allegedly defecating gold hidden in rectum

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepal Police have arrested two persons in connection with two separate incidents. One person was caught hiding the gold in the rectum while the other was caught hiding it in the dustbin.

Spokesperson of Tribhuvan International Airport Security Office, Superintendent of Police Raj Kumar Silwal said that the person who hid the gold in the rectum is an Indian national while the other is a Nepali. Abu Barakat, an Indian national who arrived in Kathmandu on a Fly Dubai flight today, was arrested while concealing the gold in the rectum.

Suspicious examination revealed that gold was hidden inside the anus and 100 grams of semi-solid gold was extracted after defecation.

Likewise, a sanitation worker at Sunagabha Sagarmatha Service Pvt Ltd, Dik Bahadur Raut, was arrested with the gold while trying to extract gold by evading security at the airport. He was arrested while removing garbage from the dustbin kept at the airport.

Pieces of gold chains weighing 4.4 grams were recovered from the garbage bag. They have been sent to the Airport Customs Office today itself for further investigation, Silwal said.
