Nawalparasi-1 plays crucial role in NC’s transformation: Binod Chaudhary

Kathmandu. The office of the Nepali Congress (NC) publicity committee has been inaugurated at Bardaghat municipality-1 in Nawalparasi-1 in view of the upcoming general election on March 4. Speaking at the program, NC candidate Binod Chaudhary said that the political situation of the country has reached an unusual turn after the Gen-G movement and the agitation has exposed the pain of the country’s lack of development, lack of employment environment and the broken system.

Chaudhary said that the Congress itself needs to change to institutionalize the changes sought by the Gen G movement. Stating that the leaders and cadres of Nawalparasi-1 had an important contribution in the transformation of the party, he said the NC people of this area had publicly stood in favour of the then NC general secretary and special general convention. He also said that after the elections, the Congress will institutionalize the demands of the Gen G movement and the aspirations of the youth.

Bardaghat Municipality Mayor Shambhu Lal Shrestha said Binod Chaudhary has not been able to work in his full term and now it is the responsibility of the local people to take him to the responsibility of handling the nation’s economy. Stating that the NC has become active and awakened again under the leadership of Gagan Thapa after the special general convention, he said the party cadres have internalized the sentiment of ‘Gagan Prime Minister, Binod as Finance Minister’. Shrestha expressed the view that Binod Chaudhary’s victory would be more important for the people of Nawalparasi and Bardaghat than for him.

NC regional president Mukul Acharya said it was good fortune for Binod Chaudhary to contest the election from this constituency.
