Kathmandu. A total of 30 MW Myardi Hydropower Project is to be constructed between Nasong Rural Municipality of Manang and Marsyangdi Rural Municipality of Lamjung.
As part of the project construction process, the Ministry of Forest and Environment has started preparing the Environmental Impact Assessment report.
The project has been proposed by Myardi Khola Hydropower Company Pvt Ltd. The project is river-flowing in nature. The project is expected to generate an average of 173.44 gigawatt hours of energy annually. The electricity generated by the project will be transmitted through a 10-kilometer-long 132-KV transmission line connecting the 220 KV capacity at Dharapani to the hub at Manang and connected to the national grid.
The total cost of the project is estimated to be Rs 3.90 billion. Based on this, the cost per MW will be Rs 13.03 crore. The Ministry of Forest and Environment has urged all stakeholders to inform about the possible environmental impacts of the project.
