Persa. The Birgunj Customs Office relies on import of petroleum products and vehicles.
The office has collected Rs 116.58 billion in revenue in the first six months of the current fiscal year. However, the import of petroleum products alone collected Rs 37.85 billion in the first six months of the current fiscal year.
The second highest revenue collection was Rs 13.98 billion from the import of transport vehicles and their spare parts. Information Officer at the Birgunj Customs Office Udaya Singh Bista said revenue from Birgunj Customs depends on import of petroleum products and transportation vehicles and their spare parts.
In the first six months of the current fiscal year, Rs 6.83 billion has been collected from iron and iron goods, Rs 5.26 billion from the import of clothes and Rs 4.91 billion from electric machinery, equipment and their parts.
Similarly, revenue of Rs 1.83 billion was collected from the import of alcoholic beverages. Revenue of Rs 1.81 billion has been collected from cosmetics.
