Kathmandu. The National Statistics Office has published the results of the Nepal Multi-Index Survey 2081/82.
The survey was conducted with the objective of national and state level monitoring, evaluation, plan formulation and providing standard and comparable indicators on the condition of women, children and households, according to the office.
The survey conducted by the Office of Statistics in the fiscal year 2081/82 is the fourth multi-index survey conducted in Nepal. According to the survey, 27 children die before one year of age in every 1,000 live births in Nepal. Similarly, the mortality rate of children below five years of age is 31 per 1,000 live births. According to the Neonatal Mortality Rate, 17 newborns die before one month for every 1,000 live births.
State-wise infant mortality rate is highest in Sudurpaschim Province with 26 and Bagmati State with 10. The infant mortality rate is highest in Sudurpaschim State at 38 while Bagmati State has the lowest at 17. Similarly, Sudurpaschim State has the highest mortality rate of 48 and Gandaki State has the lowest mortality rate of 20.
According to the report, 96. Only 7 percent of households have continuous access to electricity. Gandaki Province has the highest access to electricity at 99.5 per cent. Karnali Province has the lowest at 80 percent. 8 percent.
Telephone service is 95. Only 5% of households have access to fixed or mobile telephones. Bagmati Province has the highest number of 97. One percent of the households in the Far-Western Province have access to the telephone facility at 92.6 percent. Four out of every five households, or 82 percent, use a device with internet access.
According to the study, among women between the ages of 15 and 49. Six percent have their own mobile phone. In the last three months, 72.7 percent have used mobile phones. Of the men in the same age group, 90. Only 4 percent have a mobile phone and 78.7 percent have used it recently.
In the month before the survey, 5 people in the age group of 15 to 49 years were arrested. 1 percent are women and 41 percent are women. Eight percent of men use tobacco. Similarly, 7.6 percent of men and 2.1 percent of women started smoking or beedi before 15 years.
According to the total fertility rate, the average is one per woman. Nine live children are born. Among adolescent girls aged 15 to 19 years, there were 48 live births per 1,000 adolescent girls, compared to 11 per 1,000 adolescent girls aged 20 to 24 years. Two percent of women have given birth before the age of 18.
Among the newly married women aged 15.49 years, 35 per cent have used some form of family planning methods, while 55.2 per cent have expressed satisfaction with modern family planning services.
Eighty-five percent of women who gave birth in the two years before the survey had had at least four prenatal check-ups. Ibid., 90. 5 percent in health facilities, 91 percent. Four percent are skilled obstetricians and 25 percent are obstetricians. Three percent have delivered caesarean sections.
Among children under the age of 5, 24. 3 percent weight loss (Likhure) and 31 percent. There is a 5 percent decrease in height. 7.6 percent and two. Six percent of children are overweight. Madhes Province (33.2 percent) and Bagmati Province (9.6 percent) have the highest number of children living in the country.
Two of the three mothers are 69. 7 percent of infants were fed only breast milk for six months. This rate is highest in the Sudurpaschim state at 76.6 percent. Similarly, 80 children between the ages of 12 and 23 months. Only 7 percent have completed all vaccinations in the first year. It was found that 7.8 per cent of children suffered from diarrhoea and 20.6 per cent of them were fed zinc and rehydration soup in the two weeks before the survey.
According to this study, 57 of the children between the ages of 36 and 59 months 9 percent have participated in early childhood education programs. At the basic level (grades 1-5). 5 percent, 3.6 percent in grades 6-8 and 13 percent in secondary level (9-12). Only 2 percent of children are out of school. Similarly, 85 children under 5 years of age. Four percent of births have been registered. This rate is the highest in Karnali Province at 95. 8 percent and Koshi Province has the lowest 78 percent. 4 percent.
Although 98.2 percent of Nepal’s population uses improved drinking water sources, 60.4 percent of households have been found to have germs in their drinking water. Similarly, 92.4 percent of households use improved toilets and 86.4 percent have access to handwashing facilities.
In the age group of 15 to 49 years, 17.8 percent of women and 19.5 percent of women in the age group of 15 to 49 years are eligible for health insurance. Only 6 percent of men are covered by insurance. The multi-indicator survey is expected to provide an important statistical basis for formulation of plans, policy formulation, monitoring of SDGs and measurement of multidimensional poverty at the federal and state levels.
A total of 12,960 households were selected from 540 census locations across the country. It has collected details related to health, education, nutrition, mental health and quality of drinking water of women, men, children and adolescents.
