Department monitoring of shortage of cooking oil and cooking gas

. The Department of Commerce, Supplies and Consumer Protection has intensified on-site monitoring and inspection in different parts of the capital following artificial shortage of cooking oil and cooking gas in the market.

The Department has stated that joint market monitoring has been carried out continuously with the help of other competent bodies at the producers, sellers, importers, hoarders and service providing firms and establishments of essential and daily consumables to the consumers.TAG_OPEN_div_11

TAG_OPEN_div_9 The department has been monitoring effectively to provide relief to the consumers and to bring those involved in artificial shortage of consumer goods under the ambit of action. In recent days, consumers have been harassed especially by showing the shortage of cooking gas. The department has said that those who violate the law have been brought under the purview of action.

TAG_OPEN_div_7 The department has reminded that strict action will be taken as per the prevailing laws if any activities are found violating the prevailing laws. KATHMANDU: Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has been claiming that there is easy supply of cooking gas in the market, but consumers have not been able to get it easily. The department has taken necessary action after the number of complaints increased.
