Jenji government’s achievement: 38 offices under the Ministry of Finance and 323 posts cut, Melamchi water distribution of 170 million liters daily

Kathmandu. The Ministry of Finance has made public the achievements of the works carried out by the government and various ministries in the half-yearly evaluation report of the budget for the fiscal year 2082/083. The government has made public the achievements made by various ministries during this period.

The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers has been restructured on December 28, 2081 as per the decision of the Council of Ministers. Similarly, the average disposal rate of complaints received in Hello Sarkar has reached 65.67 percent. The government has implemented the Economic Reforms Implementation Action Plan-2082 based on the report of the High Level Economic Reform Suggestions Commission by the Ministry of Finance.

According to the Administrative Reduction Organization and Management Survey, 38 offices and 323 positions under the Ministry of Finance have been reduced.

Similarly, Nepal has achieved the BB result by completing the sovereign credit rating. This is expected to improve the investment climate. The government has reduced the monthly rent of Special Economic Zone (SEZ) from Rs 20 per square meter to Rs 5 per square meter.

The Integrated Business Revival Plan with tax exemptions and concessions has been implemented for the industries and businesses affected by the Genji agitation on September 23 and 24.

Likewise, arrangements have been made to blend bioethanol to reduce import of petroleum products.

The government has fixed the minimum procurement price of sugarcane at Rs 620 per quintal and additional subsidy of Rs 70 per quintal. The government has issued a tender for the purchase of 4.66 lakh metric tonnes of chemical fertiliser and distributed 2.43 lakh metric tonnes during the period.

Likewise, the list of 94,572 poor households in 10 districts has been approved by the Council of Ministers, while the number of beneficiaries under the social security fund has reached 2,740,090 and the number of employer establishments has reached 22,643.

As of mid-January, 590,718 Nepali workers have been granted work permit for foreign employment.

It has analysed 48 pollution samples by implementing the Carbon Trading Regulations, 2082 and Forest Regulations (Third Amendment). This government has completed 70 percent of the terminal construction of Nepalgunj airport and 60 percent of the work of Biratnagar.

For the local level, the Economic Procedures and Financial Accountability Act (Model), 2082 has been formulated and sent to the local level and 160 km of road has been constructed during the review period. Road blacktopping and construction of 10 road bridges have been completed. Construction of 16 suspension bridges and administrative buildings of 13 local levels has been completed.

The total installed capacity has reached 4,086 MW and 97 percent of the population has access to electricity. Smart driving license printing has been started through the Security Printing Center and an AI Center has been established.

The government has completed the construction of 93 basic hospitals and 62 have come into operation. As many as 43 quake-damaged schools in Jajarkot and Bajhang are in the process of being reconstructed. The government has been distributing 170 million liters of water daily to Kathmandu through the tunnel of the Melamchi Water Supply Project.

A total of 891 pregnant and lactating women have been airlifted from remote areas. The biometric verification system has been implemented in all 77 districts for identifying the beneficiaries of the social security allowance.
