. The government has reduced the budget base for the current fiscal year through a mid-term review.

Finance Minister Rameshwor Khanal has reduced the size of the budget to Rs 1.688 trillion through the mid-term review. Former Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel had presented a budget of Rs 1,964.11 billion for the current fiscal year. The government has reduced the size by 14.04 percent compared to the initial budget.

According to Minister Khanal, the government will spend Rs 1125.97 billion in recurrent expenditure, Rs 243.30 billion in capital expenditure and Rs 319.04 billion in financial management. However, Finance Minister Khanal has reduced the size of the budget on the basis of expenditure and revenue collection for 6 months.
