Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The accused in the robbery of organised bank at the Ghyunlekh branch of Nepal SBI Limited at Hayutar of Ghyunlekh rural municipality-2 in Sindhuli district have been sent to jail for investigation.
According to the District Police Office, Sindhuli, an organized group had robbed the bank branch at around 6.30 pm on January 12, 2002. Following the incident, police intensified the investigation and arrested seven people from different places on the charge of their involvement.
The arrestees have been identified as Chhabilal Syangtang (43), Chaturman Baju (43) and Gyan Bahadur Blon Tamang (53) of Sindhuli Ghyunlekh Rural Municipality-2, Sindhuli, Shashank Shrestha (22) of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-2 in Chitwan, Bibek Magar (22) and Milan Giri (23) of Bhedabari in Nuwakot Panchakanya Rural Municipality-5. They have been remanded to prison office, Sindhuli for further investigation as per the order of Sindhuli District Court dated February 11, 2002.
Similarly, the court has ordered that a minor involved in the same incident be sent to a juvenile detention center with a changed name. Police said that the culprits involved in serious criminal cases like bank robbery have been brought to book and the investigation process has been forwarded. Further investigation into the incident is underway.
