The Department will coordinate and regulate the transportation of cooking gas effectively.

. KATHMANDU: The Department of Commerce, Supplies and Consumer Protection is to coordinate and regulate the supply of cooking gas (LPG) to make its supply management effective.

Consumers have been facing problems in the distribution of cooking gas in recent days. The Department has urged the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) to take necessary measures to make transportation management effective. The department has also issued necessary directives to big gas production companies.

In course of monitoring the available gas bottling industries in the Kathmandu Valley, the government has directed to increase the production and distribution as per the demand of the consumers.TAG_OPEN_div_16

The department has directed the industries to increase their production capacity by supplying gas in full capacity.TAG_OPEN_div_14 Dealers, retailers and suppliers distributing LP gas should maintain an effective record of consumer demand and distribute it equitably without unnecessary hoarding.

Similarly, the Department has urged consumers and business establishments to help them by purchasing only the required quantity without making unnecessary hoardings.TAG_OPEN_div_12

The Department has also monitored and analyzed the situation of the supply chain of gas at the industry level, big suppliers and small dealer level in the context of availability, storage and distribution of gas in the market.TAG_OPEN_div_10
