Kathmandu. The World Bank has launched the Nepal Fiscal Dashboard. At an event organized here today, the World Bank representative made public the dashboard with an objective of providing information on Nepal’s public financial management.
The dashboard will provide financial information related to the federal, provincial and local levels. The dashboard will integrate key financial data and get it easily. According to the World Bank, the dashboard will have data related to income, expenditure and financial management of the federal, provincial and local levels. This data can be analyzed from different angles. According to the World Bank, the dashboard was prepared after consultation with government, civil society and development partners.
Users can visit the World Bank’s website and get the required data using this dashboard. The dashboard analyzes data related to budget, revenue, current and capital expenditure, and financial management of various financial years.
On the occasion, Under-Secretary at the Ministry of Finance Hikmat Bahadur Bhandari said that this type of dashboard was very useful and the government was preparing to set up a dashboard related to public finance management. He said that the dashboard will be ready and made public within a year.
Former vice-chairman of the National Planning Commission, Shivaraj Adhikari, said that the dashboard would be useful for the stakeholders, policy makers, researchers, journalists and students. The dashboard can be accessed on the World Bank website.
Yashihiro Saito, the World Bank’s public sector expert, said the dashboard is expected to be useful for many people. He said that the manual of the dashboard will also be convenient for the users as it is available on the website and will be further refined based on the suggestions in the coming days.
