Lamjung. CPN-UML vice-chairman and former Minister for Communications and Information Technology Prithvi Subba Gurung has said Lamjung would be developed as the information technology hub.
Gurung, who is the candidate for the House of Representatives from Lamjung, said that if elected, he would work to develop the district as the hub of information technology. He said that five thousand youths would be provided employment within five years by developing information technology.
He also pledged to establish ICT labs in all schools in the district and conduct information technology classes. He said that information technology would be developed in the hospitals and health centres in the district to provide round-the-clock internet service.
He also said that he has a plan to develop information technology in all government offices and wards. He said that emphasis would be laid on modern agriculture farming by introducing AI technology in agriculture. He said that he would work to develop the tourism sector by connecting the homestay villages in the district with information technology. “I am saying all this from my experience of running the Ministry of Communications for thirteen months. If the district can be made a hub of IT, the district will also become rich and employment will also be available. ”
He claimed that his victory is certain as all the political parties are in the same competition this time. “The UML was under siege in the 2079 elections as well. It was a five-party alliance, I won. I have not committed any corruption, there is no reason for me to lose this time. ”
Leader Gurung said that his and his party’s victory was imperative to complete the development works initiated by the CPN (UML) for the protection of the constitution and democracy.
