JSP’s manifesto: Free health service, probe into properties of high-ranking officials to construction of East-West railway

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU — The Janata Samajbadi Party Nepal (JSP) has released its manifesto for the upcoming elections to the House of Representatives.
The manifesto released today has set the main goal of building a welfare state through social justice, inclusion, equal opportunity and transparent governance.TAG_OPEN_div_54
The manifesto states that free health services will be provided to all citizens.TAG_OPEN_div_52 The commitment has been made to ensure quality and accessible health services by establishing health service as the absolute responsibility of the state.
Free education from early childhood to higher level will be ensured and education from school, college and university to higher level will be made completely free.TAG_OPEN_div_50 Similarly, the manifesto has made provision of free legal aid to all citizens by establishing law and justice as a full public responsibility.
Nepal will be transformed into a cashless transaction country, justice will be provided to the cooperative victims and the property of people’s representatives, high-ranking officials, security agencies and office-bearers of constitutional commissions from 2047 BS till now will be investigated.
The manifesto includes various programmes including foreign employment, climate change and environmental justice, Chure conservation and ecological balance, scientific land use, land reform and land management policy, land pooling and modernization of agricultural land, strong agriculture system, sustainable development goals, industrialization and production-oriented economy, Dalit and women rights TAG_OPEN_div_46 ।
} Social security system based on life cycle will be expanded with special emphasis on social justice, inclusion and discrimination-free social system.
Similarly, Lumbini and Janakpurdham would be developed as cultural and religious tourism hubs and international standard cricket and football stadiums would be constructed in all seven provinces within the next TAG_OPEN_div_42 five years.
JSP Nepal has said that it will directly link the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations with policy, budget and implementation for the commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).TAG_OPEN_div_40 The major programmes include reducing the population living below the poverty line to 10 per cent in the next five years, increasing public investment in education and health sector, increasing the literacy rate to 90 per cent, implementing programmes to eliminate gender inequality, linking environment protection with policy and budget, making inclusive development programmes effective and ensuring water supply to all citizens ।
Considering infrastructure development as the basis for economic transformation, it has been announced that the transport network will be expanded nationwide. It is stated that Postal Highway project would be completed within five years, construction of East-West Railway would be accorded top priority and economic corridor along with north-south road network would be enabled in Madhesh districts.
Through its manifesto, the JSP has stated that the objective of the state should be to provide quality services to the citizens.TAG_OPEN_div_36 The state should develop every citizen as an active force for nation building through just service, equal opportunity and transparent governance.
The manifesto states that the main goal of the party is to establish a welfare state, build an equitable society and establish an inclusive socialist democratic system of governance based on equality through the implementation of the proposed programme.TAG_OPEN_div_34
Unveiling the manifesto, party chairman Upendra Yadav pledged to move ahead by institutionalizing federal democratic republic in the country.TAG_OPEN_div_32 According to him, the manifesto has prepared federalism, good governance, corruption control, social justice and socialism as the basis of ideological and theoretical basis.
