Farmers in Tanahun sell oranges worth millions

According to him, 11821.7 metric tonnes of oranges were produced this year. Out of 1670 hectares of orange farming in the district, orange is produced in 977 hectares of land, said Pariyar.

Dumrikharka, Dandapani, Kholagaun, Jharpung of Abukhaireni Rural Municipality, Chyachul, Uwathok, Mewapani of Ghiring Rural Municipality, Naram, Chhipe, Lumring, Dagara of Devghat Rural Municipality, Akspangdi, Chambot, Kokhe of Bhimad Municipality, Bahpur, Umachok, Chhang of Myagde Rural Municipality, Archaldi, Dubung, Dharampani, Kamalbari, Kafalswara, Jhargaon, Baspani of Bandipur Rural Municipality, Tanahunsur, Benikot of Byas Municipality and Namsikot and Jyangladi of Shuklagandaki Municipality Oranges are pocket areas of production.

Apart from Kathmandu, oranges are sold in Pokhara, Narayangadh and other places. In most of the places of the district, traders go to the orchards to buy oranges.
