Kathmandu. KATHMANDU — The Progressive Democratic Party (Pragatisheel Loktantrik Party) (Pragatisheel Loktantrik Party (PRNP) has made public its commitment letter in the House of Representatives election scheduled for March 4.

Party chairpersons Sudan Kirati, Durga Sob and Santosh Pariyar jointly unveiled the commitment letter at a press conference today.

The manifesto mentions that development of energy security will be taken as the basis for self-reliance. Electricity import will be reduced to zero in the next 10 years through abundant hydropower production, construction of necessary transmission lines and electricity trade.

For the next 10 years, the total share of fixed capital will be 35 percent of the GDP, then the average will be 40 percent for the next 10 years, and for the next 10 years, it will be 45 percent.

The projects of strategic importance to be developed at the federal level include energy security (large hydropower and transmission lines), 4 and 6-lane roads, railways, airports, cable cars, mountain major trekking routes, big irrigation, special industrial zones, mining industries,

etc.

These include environmental protection, science technology and research, sports, satellites, etc. Special emphasis will be given to the completion of the projects of national pride of big infrastructure that have already been announced.

Similarly, industries such as textiles, agricultural implements, rubber and paper that have been closed will be rehabilitated on the basis of feasibility. An environment will be created to waive the interest of the crisis-hit industries and to operate the sick industries effectively. Special emphasis will be given to the development of industries to promote import substitution and export by producing quality goods. For this, internationally renowned industrial companies will be encouraged to establish big industries in Nepal. Similarly, at least one modern industrial zone will be established in every province and at least one industrial village will be established at every local level.

A ‘modern garment industry’ will be set up for the production of uniforms used by the civil service, security organs, schools, colleges and corporate institutions. Agricultural production is justly designated by the producers if they want

Arrangements will be made for the government to purchase it at the agricultural management center of the nearest village÷municipality at the price. Procurement will be ensured by fixing the market price of agricultural produce

Nepal’s tourism will be marketed in the international market by promoting natural, archaeological, historical, religious and adventure tourism in order to attract 5 million tourists every year. To develop Nepal as an attractive tourist destination, branding in the international arena with local knowledge, taste and ownership by combining culture, nature and technology

The bill states that efforts would be made to declare Nepal as a zone of peace by declaring the birth anniversary of Gautam Buddha as the World Peace Day.
