Lalitpur. Out of 71 candidates contesting from three constituencies for the upcoming elections to the House of Representatives, 23 have been recommended for opening bank accounts.

Information Officer at the District Election Office, Samita Basnet, said that so far 23 candidates from various political parties and independent candidates have received their candidacies.

The Election Commission (EC) has issued the ‘House of Representatives Election Publicity Bank Account Operation and Management Procedure-2082’ in view of the upcoming elections. As per the procedure, every political party and candidate should open separate bank accounts for election campaign expenses.

A total of 28 candidates have filed their candidacies for the post of Lalitpur constituency-1. Of them, 12 are independent candidates, 25 are male and three are female.

A total of 23 candidates have filed their candidacies in Lalitpur Constituency No 2. Of them, seven are independent candidates and 16 are candidates of different political parties. There are two women candidates in the constituency.

Similarly, 23 candidates had filed their candidacies in Lalitpur Constituency No 3 and three withdrew their candidacies.
