Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Kumari Bank Limited has been accredited with internationally recognized ISO/IEC 27001:2022 Information Security Management System (ICMS) certification.

This certification demonstrates that the Bank’s information security policies, procedures and controls are in line with international standards. There are 93 controls. It is divided into organizational (37), people (8), physical (14)/technical (34). ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification is issued to ensure that these controls are implemented through an independent external audit.

The certification ensures that the bank has a good ability to identify, evaluate and manage information security risks and is compliant with international standards. The certificate also validates that the bank has kept the data of its customers safe and confidential, provided it when needed, protected from unauthorized access and has implemented robust security systems.

With rapid expansion of digital banking services and cyber security and data privacy emerging as major concerns of customers and stakeholders, the bank has implemented the highest standards of security across its mobile banking, internet banking, card services and internal systems.

Chief Executive Officer of the bank Ram Chandra Khanal said, “Customer’s trust is the foundation of banking services. Receiving ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification is a reflection of our unwavering commitment to protecting our clients’ financial information. We will continue to invest in technology, human resources, and processes to provide a safe and reliable banking environment. ’

The bank has been implementing a mechanism for prevention, identification and management of the potential cyber risks through regular risk assessment, employee awareness program, security audit and continuous monitoring system.

“Information security is not a one-time achievement but a process of continuous improvement and we will continue to strengthen our security mechanisms in the coming days in line with regulatory standards and international best practices,” the statement added.
