Sarlahi. A child was injured in a shooting at Malangawa, the district headquarters of Sarlahi district today. Akash Ram, 15, son of Ram Biswas Ram of Malangawa municipality-4 was injured in the incident.
The boy was shot while playing with an abandoned pistol found at Dhaka Border in Malangawa-4. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Saroj Rai of the District Police Office informed that the boy was shot in his right glove in the incident.
According to the police, the boy was injured when he opened a red cloth wrapped in a corner of the under-construction Hanuman temple in Dhaka border and the pistol exploded while trying to use it.
The injured child is undergoing treatment at the Provincial Hospital Malangwa and is out of danger, police said. Sub-engineer at Physical Infrastructure Development Office, Sarlahi, Pramod Kumar Yadav, was shot dead by an unidentified person at Malangawa on the night of February 13.
Police said they are investigating the possibility of a weapon used in the incident.
