Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sushila Karki has extended hearty best wishes to all Nepali sisters and brothers on the occasion of the 76th Democracy Day.

In a message of best wishes through social media, Prime Minister Karki recalled that the first parliamentary election was started from this day in 2015 BS although the revolution of 2007 BS had made citizens from the people.

“We failed at the leadership level to make democracy a way of life,” she wrote on social media. We had to agitate again and again. Now that destiny must end. Let us address the resolve against corruption, nepotism and discrimination through institutional reforms.

The Prime Minister has also called for unity for building a democratic, stable and prosperous Nepal through the election in a free, fair and fear-free manner.

On the occasion, PM Karki expressed heartfelt tribute to all the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for democracy and good governance.
