RSP pledges to formulate 50-year master plan for railway expansion, connect Nepal with railways of China and India

Kathmandu. The Rastriya Swatantra Party (Rastriya Swatantra Party) has included the railway in its manifesto today.

The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RSP) has prepared a 50-year master plan for the expansion of railway on the basis of detailed study to bring about long-term changes in the transportation system of Nepal.

The Mechi-Mahakali electric railway would be made the backbone for the transportation of passengers and goods.

Similarly, Nepal will be linked to the rail network of China and India with branch routes to major cities of Pokhara, Kathmandu, Dang, Surkhet and Terai.

Nepal’s major cities will also include electric buses in the medium term and tram, light rail to connect to the long-distance rail network later.

It is stated that the under-construction railway would be brought into operation at the earliest by resolving the legal complexities in the distribution of compensation and producing the required human resources.
