Shangri-La Distillery starts commercial production

Kathmandu. Shangri-La Distillery Limited, which has established its factory in Brahmanagar, Chitwan, has started commercial production.

The distillery is one of the largest and most advanced distilleries in the country in terms of production capacity and technology.

Spread over 80,000 square feet in Simaltadi, the industry stands as the largest distillery infrastructure ever built in Nepal. The industry is equipped with modern wine storage systems, blending tanks, blending storage tanks, holding tanks and fully automated production machinery designed to meet international production standards.

The distillery produces a variety of wines, including 25UP, 30UP, 40UP and 70UP ranges. Its flagship brands include Tejas Gold Whisky, Tejas Black Whisky, Riff Vodka, V8 Premium Vodka. According to the company, all these products are made using advanced filtration systems and premium imported Scottish malts. This ensures consistent quality and international-class taste.

Driving economic growth and employment

Shangri-La Distillery has emerged as an important contributor to Nepal’s economy. The company, which is in the early stages of production, is directly creating employment opportunities for more than 200 people. Apart from this, it has also provided opportunities for numerous indirect jobs in food, agriculture, distribution and related industries for raw materials.

As one of the industries contributing VAT and excise duty, the distillery sector will play an important role in national revenue generation. The Shangri-La Distillery is expected to significantly increase government revenue by stimulating economic activities in the Chitwan region and beyond.

Export Approach and Global Access

The company is also preparing to sell and distribute its products outside Nepal. In the first phase, the company is eyeing international markets with strong distribution relationships in Australia. This will help establish Nepal as a competitive exporter of high-quality liquor. The export-oriented strategy is expected to increase Nepal’s global presence and strengthen foreign exchange inflows.
