Kathmandu. The import of petroleum products has been the highest in the last seven months of the current fiscal year.
According to the Department of Customs, diesel worth Rs 69.91 billion was imported in the last seven months. Likewise, imports of petrol amounted to Rs 38.13 billion and cooking gas worth Rs 31.85 billion.
Imports included iron and iron products worth Rs 31.09 billion, smartphones worth Rs 21.32 billion, crude soybean oil worth Rs 59.13 billion and gold worth Rs 21.20 billion.
Soyabean oil amounted to Rs 66.78 billion. According to the department, cardamom exported goods worth Rs 8.61 billion, sunflower oil worth Rs 5.78 billion and carpet worth Rs 5718.86 million.
