Kathmandu. In the first seven months of the current fiscal year, foreign trade amounted to Rs 1,291.63 billion.
According to the Department of Customs, imports amounted to Rs 1123.48 billion and exports worth Rs 168.14 billion in the review period. The country has incurred a loss of Rs 955.34 billion during the period.
In the first seven months of the current fiscal year, the country has a trade deficit of Rs 491.77 billion with imports of Rs 629.29 billion and exports of Rs 137.51 billion.
Imports from China amounted to Rs 235.38 billion and exports amounting to Rs 900.1 million.
According to the data released by the department, the trade deficit with Argentina stood at Rs 66.11 billion, with the United Arab Emirates at Rs 39.77 billion and with Indonesia at Rs 12.64 billion.
Among the countries with highest trade surplus, Romania had a trade profit of Rs 55.2 million, Norway Rs 33.3 million and Iceland Rs 25.7 million.
