Kathmandu. The Election Commission (EC) has recommended the government to give a three-day holiday during the election period. Writing a letter to the government on Sunday, the EC has recommended a public holiday targeting the March 21 elections.
According to the Home Ministry, the NHRC has issued a circular on the public holiday from March 4 to March 6. “The EC has recommended the public holiday with the objective of encouraging voters’ participation in the elections. The next meeting of the Council of Ministers will decide on the holiday.
