Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Krishna Prasad Gautam has been appointed as an independent director of Machhapuchchhre Bank. A meeting of the board of directors of the bank held on February 24 appointed Gautam to the post.

Gautam was appointed as the CEO of Hydroelectricity Investment and Development Company after retiring from the Employees Provident Fund. Gautam’s four-year tenure at Hydroelectricity Investment and Development ended in April last year.

Prior to this, Anish Sah was an independent director of the bank. Shah, who represented the promoter shareholders’ group, has resigned. The meeting of the Board of Directors of the bank held on Friday approved the approval.
