22 injured in Dhading bus accident, 1 killed in Kathmandu

Kathmandu. Twenty-two passengers of a passenger bus (Ga 2 Kha 1421) that met with an accident in Dhading from Pokhara have been brought to Kathmandu for further treatment.

Spokesperson of the District Police Range, Kathmandu, Superintendent of Police Pawan Kumar Bhattarai said that 12 of the injured are undergoing treatment at National Trauma Centre and 10 at National Hospital Kalanki. He said that one of the 23 people who were brought for treatment died of another injury. His identity is yet to be revealed.

Currently, 9 men and 1 woman are undergoing treatment at National Hospital, Kalanki. At the Trauma Center, 7 men and 5 women are being treated.

The injured have been identified as Rajesh Kunwar, 33, of Sitapaila, Subin Malla, 18, of Tanahun, Pratibha Poudel, 35, of Lekhnath, Kaski, Chandra Ashish Phuyal, 23, of Devinagar, Kaski, Sangam Malla, 19, of Lolang, Kathmandu, Pramila Bhattarai, 39, of Chisuwa in Kaski and Dambar Bahadur BK, 64, of Phedikhola-4, Syangja. The deceased have been identified as Krishna Tiwari, 25, of Kalanki, Kathmandu, Sunam Gurung, 20, of Kaski and Rajendra Bisunke, 36, of Dhunibesi, Dhading.

Similarly, Xi Hou, 22, of China, Angie Sherpa, 48, of Bouddha, Kathmandu, Som Prasad Malla, 45, of Tanahun, Bipin Manandhar, 30, of Jhapa, Puja Phuyal, 28, of Gokarna, Kathmandu, Sachindra Sunar, 26, of Phedikhola, Syangja and Pradeep Lamichhane, 26, of Lekhnath, Kaski were receiving treatment at the Trauma Centre.

Similarly, Norbu Palden of Bouddha, Kathmandu, Swornima Khatri of Kapan, Salina Pariyar, 19, of Kaski, Man Bahadur Thapa, 44, of Tanahu and Langsangoli Lama, 48, of Bouddha are being treated at the Trauma Centre.

Eighteen people were killed and 26 others injured in the accident.
