Kathmandu. CPN-UML leader Ishwor Pokharel, who is contesting the election to the House of Representatives from Kathmandu-5, has put the construction of the Tokha-Chhahare tunnel way in first priority.
In the commitment letter made public by him, he proposed to revitalize and develop Hadigaun as a cultural tourism destination by studying the archaeological and cultural aspects of Hadigaun, the capital of the Lichhavi period.
He also presented a plan to develop Budhanilkantha temple as an international religious tourism destination, construct Budhanilkantha-Bagdwar-Chisapani-Gosaikunda trekking route and expand community homestay at Tamang settlement.
It also envisages developing tourism destinations through the conservation and utilization of religious and cultural heritages including Sapan Tirtha and Chandeshwori Temple of Tokha and expanding access of Tokha’s Chaku to the international market.
He stressed on the promotion and protection of local art, culture and Nepal Bhasa as well as cultural festivals of Hadigaun, Tundaldevi, Dharampur, Budhanilkantha, Dhapasi and Tokha.
Leader Pokharel also gave priority to drinking water, sewerage, waste management, construction of public transport and parks in Kathmandu metropolis, Budhanilkantha and Tokha municipalities.
