Kanchanpur. All the transit points with India in Kanchanpur district are to be closed in a bid to hold the House of Representatives elections in a free, fair and fear-free environment.

District Administration Office, Kanchanpur’s Assistant Chief District Officer Mohan Chandra Joshi said all the transit points in the districts bordering India will remain closed from 12.00 midnight of March 2 to 12.00 midnight on Thursday in view of the election to the member of the House of Representatives scheduled for March 4.

All essential services such as ambulance, traffic, fire truck, telecommunication, mortuary, hospital service, electricity service and vehicles except those of diplomatic missions with CDs on number plates and vehicles with permits have been banned from 12 midnight on March 4, Joshi said.

According to him, the decision was taken to conduct the election in a peaceful, dignified and systematic manner.
