Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: IME and Saudi Arabia’s leading remittance service provider IME have signed an agreement with Saudi Arabia’s reputed digital wallet ‘Tikmo’ to expand digital transactions.

The partnership agreement was signed between the two companies during a special ceremony held in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, on February 27. IME Chairman Hemraj Dhakal and Tikmo Managing Director Abdulaziz Azlan Alazlan signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations. The signing ceremony was attended by Nepal’s Charge d’ Affaires to Saudi Arabia, Srijana Adhikari, CEO of IME Bank, Diwakar Poudyal and other high officials of both the companies.

The agreement is seen not only as a business partnership but also as a cornerstone of a shared digital future between the two nations. As Saudi Arabia aims for a cashless society through its ‘Vision 2030’, Nepal is rapidly expanding access to digital finance. In this context, the collaboration between IME, a trusted remittance brand and Tikmo, the digital ecosystem based on modern technology, is believed to bridge the distance between the desert of Saudi Arabia and the mountains of Nepal.

For decades, Nepal-Saudi Arabia relations have been characterized only through manual labour and traditional remittances, but now this partnership has created a ‘digital financial corridor’. Both sides claim that it will promote financial stability, digital empowerment and easy financial connectivity.

Along with the agreement, IME has also launched promotional scheme “Let’s IME through Tikmo, Win Gifts” for the Nepalese residing in Saudi Arabia. Under this scheme, Nepalese residing in Saudi Arabia will get a chance to win attractive gifts while sending money to Nepal through IME using the Tikmo app.
