International and domestic flights to operate as usual on election day

Let’s go to Kathmandu. International and domestic flights will continue to operate on March 4, the day of the election.

Although the operation of vehicles except the most essential ones has been banned on the day of the election, the flights will continue as usual.

The Election Commission has directed the home administration to make arrangements for the operation of flights as usual on the day of the election as well as to allow the passengers with tickets for international and domestic flights ÷÷to use the vehicles provided by the private or related airlines while traveling from the airport to the hotel where they live.

Clause 43 and Clause 84 of the Election of the Members of the House of Representatives Election (Voting) Directive, 2082 mentioned in clause 6 of the Election Security (Management) Directive, 2082 states that a voter should take his/her voter identity card or Nepali citizenship certificate, national identity card or passport or land ownership certificate or driving license while going to cast vote ।

The EC has also asked to disseminate information to the security personnel, employees and stakeholders deputed in the election that any voter whose name is in the voters’ list will be entitled to vote with any one of the documents.

“As per the Vehicle Permit Procedure 2082 issued by the Election Commission, a pass distribution unit will be set up at the EC’s secretariat premises to provide vehicle passes to be issued by the Election Commission and the District Administration Office, Kathmandu on the day of the election. ’
