7 flights canceled, flights suspended in 9 countries due to Middle East tensions

Kathmandu. 7 flights have been canceled due to rising tensions in the Middle East region. Spokesperson of Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), Santosh Kumar Basnet, said that all 6 airlines that were scheduled to operate flights on Sunday have been canceled.

Flights have been suspended in 9 countries due to rising tensions in the Middle East region. Flights to Qatar, the UAE, Kuwait, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon and Bahrain have been canceled.

Other flights of international airlines have also been affected due to tensions in the Middle East region. According to Spokesperson Basnet, 7 regular flights have been canceled so far and more flights are likely to be affected depending on the situation.

So far, Air Arabia’s G9 536÷537 and 3L-043÷044, Flight Dubai’s FZ-1133÷1134 and FZ-1537÷1538, Jazeera Airways’ J9 1539÷1540 and Qatar Airways’ Qatar-648÷649 and Himalaya Airlines have been canceled.

Due to the closure of international flights, flights from Tribhuvan International Airport to Kuwait, Qatar and UAE have not been able to take place. According to Basnet, at least 21 flights of seven airlines operating flights from these countries to Nepal have been affected.

Spokesperson Basnet of Tribhuvan International Airport Office has requested the passengers to confirm the flight status before arriving at the airport. He said regular flights would be resumed gradually once the situation becomes normal.
