Banke. Minister for Home Affairs Om Prakash Aryal has said that all preparations for the upcoming elections to the House of Representatives (HoR) have been completed.
Home Minister Aryal, who arrived in Nepalgunj today to take stock of the security arrangements in course of the scheduled elections scheduled for March 4, said the government was committed to ensuring the people’s rights to vote in a fearless environment.
Speaking at a news conference organised at Nepalgunj today, he said the government would leave no stone unturned to hold the elections in a free, fair and fear-free environment.
After the meeting with the district chiefs, Home Minister Aryal said, “I have come here to take stock of the situation of election security in Banke district and the strategy. Information about the entire issue was received from the concerned security chiefs. Security has been beefed up, I request all to cast their vote without any fear. ”
Home Minister Aryal said that preparations for the challenges that might come along with the work and performance of the District Security Committee, Chief District Officer and Chief Election Officer were satisfactory.
He expressed the belief that the election would be successful in a peaceful manner amidst a joyous atmosphere with the participation of majority of the people as the security situation of the entire country has been strengthened and an atmosphere of election has been created nationwide.
Warning that there might be attempts to disrupt the elections from somewhere, Home Minister Aryal said, “Some groups are active in the election rather than the political parties. We have taken control of such groups and we will take them under control. Those who act against the law and obstruct the democratic process like voting rights will be arrested and prosecuted. ”
On a different note, he praised the religious tolerance prevailing in Banke district and said the local leadership was successful in identifying wrong elements in time and preventing them. Responding to a query of media persons, the Home Minister shared that the government has extended time for the incident.
