Kathmandu. The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has decided to support Nepali Congress candidate Chunna Prasad Poudel from Rupandehi-2. The RPP, which has not fielded its candidate in the constituency under the first-past-the-post (FPTP) system, has said that it will support Paudel as the candidate from the constituency which is close to the principles and ideology of the party.

Rastriya Prajatantra Party Rupandehi-2 regional chair Ram Bahadur Thapa said they decided to vote for Poudel as the parties agreed on economic, social and prosperity issues.

RPP had secured 5,600 votes in the 2017 election under proportional representation in this constituency. “The NC has decided to vote for Poudel under the first-past-the-post (FPTP) system from this constituency as it is a party that follows the rule of law compared to other parties,” the party said in a press release.
