Kathmandu. The silence period for the House of Representatives election scheduled for March 4 begins at 12:00 midnight today. According to the Election Commission, the election campaign will not be allowed from 12 midnight today.

Issuing a press release today, the EC urged the Ministry of Home Affairs and all the Chief District Officers and security agencies to fully abide by the election code of conduct during the election publicity prohibition period.

Likewise, the District Code of Conduct Monitoring Committee has been requested to mobilize the designated individuals and mechanisms to inform about the action taken against those involved in special acts as per Article 24 of the Election (Offense and Punishment) Act, 2073 BS and Clause 17 and 18 of the Election Code of Conduct, 2082.

KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) has urged the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) to take immediate action as per the prevailing law if the prohibited activities were carried out during the election period and if any activities were found carried out in any places, the Ministry of Home Affairs should inform the Election Commission about the prohibited activities.
