Kathmandu. KATHMANDU — Finance Minister Rameshwor Khanal has thanked the Election Commission (EC) for conducting the elections in a peaceful manner amid doubts over whether or not the elections would be held on the stipulated date.
On the occasion, Minister Khanal thanked the EC office-bearers for conducting the election without adjourning at any of the polling places. The EC said that the election was held with strong will even when the country was in turmoil after the movement of the Genji generation.
Finance Minister Khanal recalled that re-election was held in 51 seats in the previous elections. He said the works were carried out without any compromise on the schedule set by the EC amidst doubts whether the election would be held peacefully as the inmates and inmates are absconding.
Finance Minister Khanal said that the election could be held due to the EC’s effective schedule and determination towards its work. “The Commission has also been successful in inculcating the feeling that competition should be held in a fair manner to strengthen democracy. “The election was successfully conducted without any postponement at a single place, and the demand of the youths for maintaining good governance in the country has been made successful,” he said.
Finance Minister Khanal has expressed his commitment to take initiative to make public the report submitted by the commission formed to investigate the incidents that took place during the Jenji agitation on September 7 and 24. He said that the next government would work for the implementation of the report.
Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Anil Kumar Sinha was also present on the occasion. Acting Chief Election Commissioner Ram Prasad Bhandari, Secretary Krishna Bahadur Raut and other high-ranking officials briefed the ministers about the election and vote counting.
