Sunsari. Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP)’s Lal Bikram Thapa has won the House of Representatives election from Sunsari-2.
Thapa garnered 57,348 votes, according to election officer Rajendra Kumar Lamsal. His nearest rival Rajiv Koirala of Nepali Congress got 16,071 votes, CPN-UML’s Sujan Lama got 8,303 votes and Chetan Rai of Labour Culture Party got 7,484 votes.
A total of 28 candidates, including nine independents and 19 parties, were in the fray in the constituency. The constituency covers 30 wards including Itahari, Inaruwa, Dewangunj, Radhuni and Harinagara.
