. The Judicial Commission has submitted its report to the government today to investigate into the Jenji agitation of September 7 and 24.
At a programme held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers today, NHRC Chairperson Gauri Bahadur Karki submitted the report to Prime Minister Sushila Karki.
On the occasion, NHRC Chairperson Gauri Bahadur Karki said that the commission had worked honestly and had put forth the report without any prejudice.
He also said that the report has also suggested that such incidents should not happen in the future.
He said, “This incident has happened due to misgovernance. Regulatory bodies have been distorted. There is a delay in the judiciary and the executive. The tendency to make judges and constitutional appointments on party lines has increased anger. If this report is implemented, the face of the country will change. ’
NHRC member Bigyan Raj Sharma said that the body taking action should carry out investigation into the report as it was only an inquiry.
Another member Bishweshwar Bhandari said that the situation of the country could be drastically changed if the recommendations mentioned in the report were implemented.
