Kathmandu. On the first trading day after the House of Representatives elections, the stock market hit the positive circuit for the second time. The stock market hit a positive circuit for the second time on Monday. The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index rose by 5 percent to the positive circuit for the second time in the first 1 minute of trading.
The NEPSE index surged 2.43 percent in the first minute of trading. After the second positive circuit, the NEPSE index increased by 135.72 points to close at 2848.22 points.
In the pre-open session, the NEPSE index rose by 1.64 percent. The market will reopen at 11:21 am.
As per the circuit break, if the NEPSE index goes up or down by 4 percent within one hour of the commencement of trading, the trading will be closed for 20 minutes.
Similarly, in case of a 5 percent decrease or increase in the second hour, 40 minutes and in the third hour or the following, the trading will be suspended for the rest of the day.
