According to the EC, the counting of votes under the proportional representation category is expected to be completed by March 10. The EC will determine the number of lawmakers to be elected from the respective parties on the basis of the votes received by the parties crossing the threshold after the completion of the proportional representation (PR) vote count.
The EC will write to the political parties to recommend the names of lawmakers to be elected as per the proportional representation cluster. After the parties recommend their names from the closed list, the names of the elected MPs under the proportional representation category will be confirmed and certificates will be provided. Spokesperson Bhattarai said that the commission is working with the target of completing all these tasks by March 5.
