Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepal Police Headquarters has urged the public to adopt necessary precautions, noting that the level of air pollution has increased alarmingly in major cities including Kathmandu.
Issuing a public notice today, Nepal Police central spokesperson and Deputy Inspector General of Police Abi Narayan Kafle said that the public has been requested to pay special attention to health security and adopt precautions.
According to him, Nepal Police has issued a six-point request to Nagkir urging people not to go out of the house unless there is an emergency. The police have also requested people to use less vehicles by gathering in groups or giving each other a lift, not to burn garbage by setting fire around them and not to do activities outside the house when the level of air pollution is high.
Especially, children, elderly people and those with respiratory problems have been urged to take extra precautions. “We have requested the people to immediately contact the nearest hospital, health centre or doctor in case of any respiratory problem,” Kafle said.
With the change in weather, the level of pollution is increasing in Nepal as well. The impact has been seen more in the urban areas including the Kathmandu Valley. The Ministry of Health has also requested everyone to take special care of their health during this time.
