Kathmandu. There has been a significant improvement in the remittance inflow in the first seven months of the current fiscal year. According to the data released by Nepal Rastra Bank, such remittances have increased by 39.8 percent in the first seven months.
In the first seven months of the fiscal year 2082÷83, remittances amounted to Rs 1,261.1 billion. The remittance inflow had grown by 7.5 per cent in the same period of the previous year. In the month of January 2022, the remittance inflow stood at Rs 198.08 billion.
In the same month of the previous year, the remittance inflow was Rs. It was Rs 137.5 billion. In the review period, the remittance inflow in US Dollars increased by 33.0 per cent and reached at Rs 8.86 billion. The remittance inflow had grown by 9.6 per cent the year before that.
During the review period, the second income (self-transfer) was Rs. 1,384.27 billion. Such income had been Rs.986.34 billion in the same period of the previous year.
A total of 245,153 Nepalis have taken final labour permit (institutional or individual) for foreign employment while 227,424 have taken re-labour permit in the review period.
Such cases were 274,622 and 190,886 respectively in the same period of the previous year. There has been an improvement in the number of workers going abroad in this fiscal year as compared to the last fiscal year.
