Kathmandu. The election police personnel of the districts who were deputed in the election to the House of Representatives held on March 4 will be made self-employed by imparting vocational training.
Chief District Officer Ganesh Aryal said the training would be conducted in two phases in collaboration with the local Chamber of Industry, CTEVT and Home Office to brighten the future of the election police. According to him, arrangements will be made to train 1,200 people in one year and the rest in the next year. He said that the training would be provided free of cost to the interested election police through the formation of a committee.
Expressing gratitude to the Election Police for their excellent performance in conducting the election, CDO Aryal said, “We bid farewell to the Nepal Police and Armed Police Force (APF) personnel in Chitwan. We not only sent them home but also sent them off with a package. ’
The farewell programme was held in consultation with the chiefs of CTEVT offices, the chiefs of the Cottage and Small Industries Office and the chairpersons of the Chamber of Industries in the district, said Aryal. He said that a committee would be formed under the coordination of the Chief of the Cottage and Small Industries Office and the interested election police would be contacted immediately and the training would be arranged.
“If you don’t want to sit idle, get in touch,” he said. Free training will be provided. Stating that there were very few instances of trained people being unemployed, CDO Aryal urged the interested election police personnel to learn professional skills. A total of 2,766 police personnel, including 2,441 from Nepal Police and 325 from Armed Police Force, had participated in the election.
