Kathmandu. The Federation of Nepalese National Transport Entrepreneurs (FNNTE) has demanded adjustment in transport fare in the transportation sector.
Issuing a press release today, FNCCI general secretary Deknath Gautam said that the serious attention of the NOC has been drawn towards the price hike of petroleum products last night. According to him, the sudden price hike without considering the interest of the general transport entrepreneurs and consumers directly consuming petroleum products has directly affected the transport entrepreneurs and passengers operating the transport service across the country.
The Federation has demanded the government to control internal leakage of petroleum products and make smooth supply of petroleum products through scientific method.
According to the Federation, the fluctuation in the price of petroleum products has directly affected the operation of public transport as the vehicles are running on diesel and petrol.
The Nepal Oil Regulation (NOC) has increased the price of diesel by 10 per litre and petrol by Rs 15 since last night. The Department of Transport Management has also requested the government to implement this provision, saying it has been adjusting the price of petroleum products through the automatic system when the price of petroleum products is increased or decreased as per the law.
The federation has also demanded the government to adjust the fare for federal routes from the Department of Transport Management and the fare from all the seven provincial ministries at the earliest.
